Who these terms are between

These terms cover your use of Footman, a macOS application made by High5 Labs LLC ("we," "us"). By downloading or using Footman, you agree to them.

Your license

When you buy Footman, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive license to use it on every Mac signed in to your Apple ID. The first activation ties the key to that Apple ID; the License page in Settings releases it so it can be used with a different one. A license key is issued per purchase; please do not publish it or resell it.

The $29 license includes 1 year of free updates from the date of purchase. After that year, Footman keeps working on the last version released within it, for as long as you like. Newer builds are a new purchase.

The $49 lifetime license includes every future update, with nothing else to buy after it.

The free version

Footman without a license launches applications, finds files, calculates, converts, searches the web and runs system commands, for as long as you like. It does not expire and it does not nag. Clipboard history, snippets, workflows, window management, themes and folder sync are what a license adds.

Refunds

If Footman is not right for you, we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on your purchase. Refunds are processed by our reseller, Paddle, the merchant of record for your order. Write to support@getfootman.com and we will help. The full policy is at Refund Policy.

Workflows and scripts

Footman runs Alfred workflow bundles and scripts you install. They are other people's code and they run with your permissions. Footman shows you what a workflow would run before its first run and never runs anything on import, and what a workflow does once you approve it is between you and its author.

AI providers

If you configure a model provider, your key and your requests go to that provider under its own terms, and what it charges you is between you and it. We do not resell tokens and we never see the request.

Acceptable use

Please do not reverse-engineer, redistribute, or attempt to circumvent Footman's licensing, and do not use Footman to violate anyone's rights or the law. We may suspend a license used in these ways.

What Footman does and does not do

Footman moves windows, reads the menu bar and acts on selected text through macOS's Accessibility APIs. Apple can change how those work between macOS releases, so some behaviors may need an update to keep working. We aim to keep Footman compatible, and we cannot guarantee that every feature behaves identically on every future version of macOS.

No warranty

Footman is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. You use it at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, High5 Labs LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Footman. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for your license.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date above reflects the latest version. Continued use of Footman after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
